Elon Musk is preparing to auction off over 350 unneeded items from Twitter HQ, including office furniture and extravagant kitchen equipment, such as a gyro cooker.
A section on the website of Heritage Global Partners, “a leading full-service auction, liquidation and asset advisory firm,” lists 351 items put up for sale from Twitter headquarters, following Elon Musk’s takeover of the Big Tech company.
According to the webpage, the sale is set to be held between the 17th and 18th of January next year, and features “surplus corporate office assets” that the new administration is keen to rid itself of.
The first lots posted on the site are some memorabilia from Twitter itself, such as a three and a half foot tall statue of the Twitter logo, an electronic light display booth featuring the logo, and a sculpture of the famous “@” with fake plants.
A sizeable section of the auction is dedicated to the sale of kitchen equipment, which includes a number of ovens, freezers, and preparation tables, but also more specialised items, including multiple espresso machines, pizza and bakery ovens, beer dispensers, an old-fashioned manual meat and cheese slicer, and even a gyro broiler.
Superfluous electronic items are also listed to be sold off, with 46 digital conference phones for the chopper, along with 40 Google digital whiteboards, and 50 media non-interactive display screens of various kinds.
