Fumble?

šŸ‘€ ā€˜Bad genetics’: Trump implies Nazi-style rhetoric dehumanizing Iranians

Trump said racist things about Iranians’ ā€˜geneticsā€ while speaking on the phone to Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade.

šŸ—£ When asked about the allegedly 1700 Iranians who crossed into the US under Biden, he insisted that they are ā€œunder watchā€.

šŸ’¬ ā€œThere's something wrong there. The genetics are not exactly your genetic. It's a terrible thing, and it happens,ā€ says Trump.Ā Ā

Just Trump callously deploying Nazi rhetoric to dehumanize the Iranian people and stoke his deranged base toward violence.

Trump on Everlasting Peace (aka ww3)

The United States of America has beaten and completely decimated Iran, both Militarily, Economically, and in every other way, but the Countries of the World that receive Oil through the Hormuz Strait must take care of that passage, and we will help — A LOT! The U.S. will also coordinate with those Countries so that everything goes quickly, smoothly, and well. This should have always been a team effort, and now it will be — It will bring the World together toward Harmony, Security, and Everlasting Peace! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Is Opening the Strait Possible for US? Fumble?

NYT:

šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øāš”ļøšŸ‡®šŸ‡· US Senator Chris Murphy:

It’s crystal clear now that Trump has lost control of this war. He badly misjudged Iran’s ability to retaliate. The region is on fire.Ā

I’m going to explain to you what I’ve learned - in part from closed door briefings - about the four biggest current crises.

CRISIS ONE: Trump believed Iran would not close the Strait of Hormuz. He was wrong. And now oil prices are spiking.Ā

If the Strait stays closed, a global recession will result. It actually may already be too late. Gas prices are the first to spike, but food prices are next.

Right now, Trump has no plan to reopen the Strait. And a plan may not exist.Ā

The assets Iran uses to harass and attack tankers - thousands of small drones, speed boats and mines - cannot be eliminated. They are too numerous, too spread out and hidden.

What about naval escorts for tankers? This is a possibility, but it’s harder than you think.Ā

First, it would require our entire navy. 100 tankers need escorting each day.Ā

Second, if we can’t destroy the mines and drones, our ships are at risk too.

CRISIS TWO: We can destroy Iran’s missiles but not all their drones, and war today is drone war.Ā

Iran can hit oil sites in the region indefinitely because they posses so many cheap, weaponized drones.Ā

And they are. They blew up a critical Oman oil depot two days ago.

If Trump paid any attention to the Ukraine War he would have noticed how warfare has changed. But he didn’t. And he blundered.

Worse, the Gulf states are running out of interceptors to stop Iranian missiles and drones - meaning that soon more oil sites will be vulnerable.

CRISIS THREE: A broader, regional war is breaking out as Iranian proxies in Lebanon hit Israel and those in Iraq target the U.S.. Israel is now threatening a massive ground invasion of Lebanon, which could become its own new crisis.

Other potential flash points lurk. So far, the Houthis in Yemen have been relatively quiet. Probably not for long. They can project power into the Red Sea.Ā

For Syria, this is the worst time for Trump to strike Iran. Syria could explode again.

CRISIS FOUR: Trump has no endgame. Iran and its proxies can create chaos indefinitely.Ā

So what’s next? A ground invasion? This would be Armageddon. Thousands of dead Americans.Ā

Declare false victory? Then the new Iranian hardliners in charge just rebuild what we destroyed.

All of this was totally foreseeable. Frankly, it’s why previous presidents weren’t so stupid to start a war like this.Ā

Trump has lost control of the war. His best course now is to cut his losses and end it. That’s the only way to prevent an even bigger disaster.

šŸ‡®šŸ‡·šŸ’ŖšŸ» Hormuz trap: Why Iran has upper hand against the US

Donald Trump’s war on Iran has morphed into a full‑blown escalation trap with no easy exit.

Following the initial US and Israeli strikes on February 28, the strategy of doubling down on aggression has backfired, while Iran has pivoted to its greatest strength: a low-cost, high-impact asymmetric retaliation.Ā

Iran has turned the Strait of Hormuz into a high-stakes chokepoint where geography and strategy strongly favor the defender.

šŸ”“ Lodged between Iran to its north and the UAE and Oman to its south, the Strait of Hormuz is around 160km long and narrows to approximately 39 km (21 nautical miles) at its narrowest

šŸ”“ The shipping lanes in each direction are approximately 3.7 km (2 nautical miles) wide, separated by a 2-nm buffer zone

šŸ”“ This Traffic Separation Scheme is so narrow that vessels become sitting ducks — potential targets for Iran's arsenal that includes:

āž”ļøĀ  swarms of Iranian Shahed-style drones

āž”ļøĀ  IRGC fast-attack boats armed with anti-ship missiles

āž”ļøĀ  explosive-laden kamikaze drone boats designed for naval warfare

āž”ļøĀ  Ghadir-class midget submarines specifically built for the shallow Gulf watersĀ

āž”ļøĀ  thousands of covertly-laid naval mines that can be laid covertly

These weapons are devastatingly cost-effective compared to the billions of dollars invested in a US carrier strike group.

If Trump were to start a ground invasion, Iran's geography transforms it into a natural fortress, shielded by the Zagros and Elburz mountain ranges.

These rugged terrains would strip invading forces of the speed and surprise that modern militaries rely on.

šŸ‘‰ Iran's coordinated retaliatoryĀ strikes pummelingĀ US military infrastructure across the Middle East, strikes on Gulf oil infrastructure, and the persistent disruption of Strait of Hormuz shipping are stretching US resources.

Any land operation would potentially snowball into a military quagmire all but certain to ignite US domestic fallout over casualties, oil-price shocks, and a new entanglement in the Middle East.

šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ØšŸ‡³ Donald Trump warned NATO faces a ā€œvery badā€ future if allies refuse to help Washington reopen the Strait of Hormuz during the war on Iran.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Trump said countries benefiting from Gulf oil should share the burden.

ā€œIt’s only appropriate that people who are the beneficiaries of the Strait will help to make sure that nothing bad happens there,ā€ he said, noting that Europe and China depend far more on Gulf energy than the US.

Trump also signaled he could delay a planned meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping if Beijing does not help restore access to the shipping route.

ā€œIf there’s no response or if it’s a negative response I think it will be very bad for the future of Nato,ā€ he added.

Pakistani oil tanker crosses the Strait of Hormuz

Taking inspiration from their main rival India, the Pakistanis also decided to take a risk — the tanker Karachi, loaded with oil, passed through the Strait of HormuzĀ and headed toward Pakistani shores.

For Pakistani tankers, this remains an isolated example so far. Before this, in Islamabad, just as in other Asian capitals, alarm bells rang over the effective blockade of energy supplies.

It remains unclear whether the Karachi's passage represents a one-off actionĀ or the beginning of a trend. There have been no talks between Pakistani and Iranian officials regarding permission for all Pakistani ships to pass — at least none that are publicly known.

šŸ–The relatively stable relationsĀ between Pakistani and Iranian authorities may have been the main reason for the tanker crossing the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's foreign minister literally today thankedĀ Pakistan for its support in the conflict.

šŸ“ŒBut even despite this, Pakistan still decided to play it safe. Just last week, ships from a local carrier reachedĀ ports in Saudi Arabia. In Islamabad, they are trying to find an alternative to the Strait of Hormuz, transporting energy resources through the Red Sea — just in case Iran changes its approach after all.

ā—ļøJudging by the Pakistani tanker's passage, the authorities are currently pursuing a different strategy. It is aimed at demonstrating that it is more beneficial to cooperate and negotiate with Tehran's authoritiesĀ rather than join the US and Israeli military campaign either directly or indirectly.

Iran seeks help from Gulf States:

šŸ‡®šŸ‡· Ali Larijani on X:

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

To Muslims around the world and to the governments of Islamic countries:

1.Ā Iran has been subjected to a deceptive American–Zionist aggression that occurred during negotiations, with the aim of dismantling Iran. This aggression led to the martyrdom of the great leader and self-sacrificing figure of the Islamic Revolution, as well as a number of civilians and military commanders. However, the aggressors faced firm national and Islamic resistance from the Iranian people.

2. You know that, except in rare cases and only in political stances, no Islamic country stood by the Iranian people. Nevertheless, the Iranian people, through their strong will, were able to suppress the aggressor enemy, to the point that today it is unable to find a way out of this strategic predicament.

3. Iran continues on the path of resistance in confronting the ā€œGreat Satanā€ and the ā€œLesser Satan,ā€ meaning America and Israel. But is the position of some Islamic governments not contradictory to the saying of the Prophet:

ā€œWhoever hears a man calling, ā€˜O Muslims!’ and does not respond is not a Muslim.ā€

So what kind of Islam is this?

4. Some countries have gone further and claimed that Iran has become their enemy because it targeted American and Israeli bases and interests on their territory. Is Iran expected to stand idle while American bases in your countries are used to attack it? These are weak excuses. Today the confrontation is between America and Israel on one side, and Muslim Iran and the forces of resistance on the other. Which side are you on?

5. Think about the future of the Islamic world. You know that America is not loyal, and Israel is your enemy. Stop for a moment and reflect on yourselves and on the future of the region. Iran advises you and does not seek dominance over you.

6. The unity of the Islamic Ummah, if achieved with full strength, is capable of guaranteeing security, progress, and independence for all its countries.

Peace be upon you.

Drone strikes and fire disrupt oil loading in the UAE’s Fujairah emirate, Reuters reports.

The developments came after US strikes on Iran’s Kharg Island — and Trump’s bombastic victory lap. In response, the IRGC said US assets in the UAE — including ports, docks and military facilities — could now be targeted.

What's Fujairah?

šŸ”“ A strategic hub for oil and petrochemical storage

šŸ”“ Fujairah port is the world’s second-largest shipping refueling hub, after Singapore

šŸ”“ The only UAE emirate outside the Persian Gulf, on the Indian Ocean side of the Strait of Hormuz

šŸ”“ Fujairah is one of the few regional terminals still exporting oil after the Strait of Hormuz closure – so the Iranian drone strike sends a meaningful signal

šŸ”“ UAE oil giant ADNOC had been keeping crude flowing through Fujairah — but now its operations are at risk. On Tuesday, the firm was forced to shut its Ruwais refinery

šŸ”“ Last year, ADNOC inked multiple deals with US energy majors with Trump's backing, promising $60 billion in US investments for UAE projects. Now the money is down the drain

šŸ”“ UAE energy investments in the US were projected to hit $440 billion by 2035 as part of a $1.4 trillion plan. Will any of it actually happen now? That’s the $1.4 trillion question

šŸ”“ Iran’s drone strikes are hitting Trump right where it hurts — methodically disrupting both Gulf energy and US hegemonic dreams without much noise and fanfare

The Pentagon identified the airmen on Saturday, as the crash remains under investigation.

The airmen are 33-year-old Maj. John A. Klinner of Auburn, Alabama; 31-year-old Capt. Ariana G. Savino of Covington, Washington; 34-year-old Tech. Sgt. Ashley B. Pruitt of Bardstown, Kentucky; 38-year-old Capt. Seth R. Koval of Mooresville, Indiana; 30-year-old Capt. Curtis J. Angst of Wilmington, Ohio; and 28-year-old Tech. Sgt. Tyler H. Simmons of Columbus, Ohio.

The crew members’ deaths bring the number of US troops killed in connection to the war with Iran to 13.

Klinner, Savino and Pruitt were assigned to the 6th Air Refueling Wing at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. All three served with the 99th Air Refueling Squadron, a geographically separated unit based at Sumpter Smith Joint National Guard Base in Birmingham, Alabama.

Koval, Angst and Simmons were assigned to the 121st Air Refueling Wing at Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base in Columbus, Ohio.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said he is mourning all of the airmen alongside the rest of the state, including those who were elite members of the Ohio Air National Guard.

The crew members were aboard a US Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft when it crashed in western Iraq on Thursday, the US military said, adding that the incident was ā€œnot due to hostile fire or friendly fire.ā€

A previous statement said two aircraft were involved in an incident over western Iraq while operating during Operation Epic Fury, the name the Pentagon has given for the war with Iran. The statement said the second aircraft landed safely.

The KC-135 allows aircraft to refuel in the sky to remain in a battle zone for longer. The jets can also be configured to carry cargo and medical patients. The Air Force did not say what mission the jets involved in Thursday’s incident were performing.

On the war itself: "This is not our war. This is an imposed war against us. We didn't start this war. It was an unprovoked, unwarranted, illegal act of aggression and we will continue to defend ourselves for as long as it takes, in order to end this war in a way that it will not be repeated in the future."

Araghchi on the pre-war Geneva negotiations with Witkoff and Kushner:

Both delegations confirmed significant progress on February 26th. The Omani intermediary read his summary to both sides before posting it. Both agreed it was accurate. Two days later, the bombs began to fall.

On the nuclear threat allegation:Ā

"I never said we are going to make bombs. I said we have 440 kilos of 60%-enriched material that is in the IAEA reports. If enriched further, your own experts say it could be sufficient for 10 bombs. So we were ready to give it up, to downblend it."

šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Americans did a good job. In 20 years of war in Afghanistan, they've swapped "Taliban" for "Taliban," and in a week of war with Iran, they've swapped Khamenei for Khamenei.

šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸ‡·šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡®šŸ‡·Trump rejected Putin's proposal to export Iranian uranium to Russia as part of an agreement to end the war in the Middle East, according to Axios.

Sources told the publication that Putin proposed transferring about 450 kg of enriched uranium with a concentration of 60% to Russia.

The uranium reserves are sufficient to produce more than 10 nuclear bombs with further enrichment.

Trump's decision means that the likelihood of a compromise is decreasing, and there fore the war is dragging on.

Iranian leader purchased luxury London homes with Israeli financing: report

Mojtaba Khamenei's reported $3 billion financial empire includes $48 million London homes financed by Israeli brothers despite decades of conflict between the countries.

Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, purchased luxury homes in London financed by around $48 million in loans financed by an investment group owned by two Israeli brothers, according toĀ a report in theĀ Jerusalem Post.Ā

TheĀ Post’sĀ report is based on an investigation by theĀ Shomrim Center for Media and Democracy in IsraelĀ and theĀ International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.Ā

Tucker Carlson commented on some news he received last night March 1 that ā€œauthorities in Qatar and Saudi Arabia arrested Mossad agents who were planning attacks in those countries. This is strange. It doesn’t make sense.ā€

Why would the Israelis carry out attacks in two Gulf countries that are also Iran’s targets? Aren’t they on the same side? No. – (Battleforworld.com: So, apparently, the Mossad agents were to carryout attacks inside those countries and it would look like as if it was Iran doing it, thus blaming Iran.)

ā€œIsrael wants to harm Iran, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait. And it succeeded.ā€

Tasnim news agency on March 2, citing an Iranian military source, said: The attack that took place this morning on Aramco oil facilities in Saudi Arabia was carried out by the Israelis in order to divert the attention of the countries of the region from the crimes of Israel aimed at non-civilian targets inside Iran.

Only in California. LAUSD is quietly borrowing ANOTHER $250 million to settle m*lestation claims against teachers. That’s on top of $500 million issued less than a year ago—pushing the total past $1 billion in claims. The district admits it is settling cases it is ā€œnot able to successfully defend.ā€ And the local taxpayers are the ones who have to foot the bill. Here’s the worst part: According to Adam Carolla, the teachers’ union is so powerful that the board can’t even fire the offenders. So taxpayers are left stuck with teachers accused of m*lesting children. And if another lawsuit is filed against them, they have to pay for it. ā€œThey’re constantly being sued because they have these p—phile teachers, and they can’t get rid of them because… the teachers union is so powerful that they literally can’t fire horrible teachers and ones that get caught in p—philia. ā€œSo they take them, and they shift them to the shitty neighborhoods where the people don’t complain, like, speak Spanish mostly… They literally take the shit teachers, and they ship them off to where the poor people are.ā€

Tech guy in Australia >

adopt cancer riddled rescue dog, months to live >

not_going_to_give_you_up.mp4 >

pay $3,000 to sequence her tumor DNA >

feed it to ChatGPT and AlphaFold >

zero background in biology >

identify mutated proteins, match them to drug targets >

design a custom mRNA cancer vaccine from scratch >

genomics professor is ā€œgobsmackedā€ that some puppy lover did this on his own > need ethics approval to administer it >

red tape takes longer than designing the vaccine >

3 months, finally approved > drive 10 hours to get rosie her first injection >

tumor halves > coat gets glossy again >

dog is alive and happy >

professor: ā€œif we can do this for a dog, why aren’t we rolling this out to humans?ā€ one man with a chatbot, and $3,000 just outperformed the entire pharmaceutical discovery pipeline. we are going to cure so many diseases. I dont think people realize how good things are going to get.

Grok Verified: The story is true. Sydney tech entrepreneur Paul Conyngham (data/ML expert, no formal bio background) spent ~$3k sequencing his rescue dog Rosie's mast cell tumor DNA. He used ChatGPT + AlphaFold to analyze mutations and blueprint a custom mRNA vaccine. UNSW RNA team manufactured it; ethics approval took 3 months. Injections at UQ: tumors halved/melted, Rosie energetic again. Genomics prof Martin Smith: "holy crap, it worked... if we can do this for a dog, why aren’t we rolling this out to humans?"
