If you have a chance, watch or read Putin's entire speech from the signing of the 'annexation" today. The official English translation doesn't quite capture its tone and tenor. It's nothing short of a total denunciation of the Globalist American Empire.
Putin's position is that the very existence of Russia as an independent polity — of any country that refuses to submit to its will, really (see Serbia) — is intolerable to the GAE, which has nothing to offer to the world but lies, violence and servitude. I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist of it.

The head of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant was working for the Ukrainians, was arrested and then expelled into the Kiev territory by the Russians:

On 30th of September, Murashov was detained on his way from the plant to Enerhodar. The kidnappers stopped his car and took the man away in an unknown direction covering his eyes with a bandage.
🇺🇳🇺🇦The IAEA announced the resignation of Igor Murashov from the post of head of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.
Recently expelled to Ukrainian controlled areas, he admitted to transmitting information to Kiev about what was happening at the station while knowing of Ukrainian attacks on the station.
Igor Murashov, the general director of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, admitted that he had passed information to Kyiv about what was happening at the plant. He stressed that he was aware that the shelling was coming from the Ukrainian troops.
Murashov also admitted that he forbade the team from publishing an appeal to the UN and the IAEA demanding that they stop the shelling. He did this because such appeals could "hurt the state interests of Ukraine."

But the real reason for the indignation of Russophobes is not even Musk's proposal itself, but the fact that in the poll, 53% of Americans approved Musk's proposal.

Elon Musk of all people has proposed a four-point peace plan for Ukraine:
- re-do the referendum under UN supervision, with Russia agreeing to leave if that's what the people decide;
- Crimea stays Russia, "as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake)"
- Water supply to Crimea assured
- Ukraine remains neutral
"This is highly likely to be the outcome in the end – just a question of how many die before then," he added, also noting "that a possible, albeit unlikely, outcome from this conflict is nuclear war."
Needless to say, he's been dogpiled by NAFO shibas and other Ukraine boosters, because how dare he even suggest anything short of total triumph of NATOzombieland, etc.
You see, the truth all along is that this conflict was inevitable because the GAE wanted it. Ukrainians were never asked what they wanted, just told what to do. This isn't a conflict between Russia and Ukraine, or even Russia and the West, but between two entirely different worlds. And there can be only one.
Ukrainian leader called for nuking:
A leaked audio recording of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and a former deputy secretary on the country's National Security Council purports to listen in on a conversation in which Tymoshenko advocates taking up arms against Russia.
In the recording from March 18, reported by Kremlin-backed television channels RT and Rossia 1 Monday night, Tymoshenko tells Nestor Shufrych that Ukrainians should kill Russians and particularly their leader, presumably President Vladimir Putin.
The statements may strike some as odd given that the pair were thought to have a pragmatic working relationship during Tymoshenko's time at the helm of Ukraine's government.
Lamenting that she had not been in a position to stop last week's annexation of Crimea by Russia, the former prime minister also appeared to answer a question about the 8 million Russians living in Ukraine by saying that they should be killed with atomic weapons. She also reportedly said that "not even a scorched field" should remain in Russia.
Responding to the report on her Twitter account, Tymoshenko said that the recorded conversation took place, but that the part about Russians in Ukraine had been cropped and she actually said that the 8 million Russians living in Ukraine were Ukrainian. She also greeted Russia's Federal Security Service and apologized to them for her obscene language.
