Why is India resisting?
India’s foreign policy of “strategic autonomy” and “multi-alignment” is ostensibly designed to balance cooperation with BRICS on one side and the US and its allies (Europe, Israel, Japan, Australia, etc.) on the other, seeking to benefit from the West’s economic, technological and defense capabilities, while using BRICS to push for incremental changes in the global trade and financial order.
While this approach is understandable from the perspective of India’s rivalry with China – its far richer, militarily stronger, technologically more advanced and geopolitically more powerful neighbor, the attempt at “multi-alignment” threatens to slow the inevitable and long-overdue global move away from Western hegemony and neocolonialism toward genuine multipolarity.

Iran exposes US' failed tech shield as UAE turns to China
The US has rewarded Abu Dhabi with broader access to sensitive American technology: under a July 10 rule, the UAE government and approved companies gained license-free access to advanced computing equipment, along with easier access to military, satellite and dual-use systems.
Commerce Department officials warned that the UAE’s close ties with China created diversion risks, but the White House pushed ahead, hoping the deal would strengthen Emirati defenses and pull Abu Dhabi deeper into Washington’s orbit.
Iranian strikes exposed how little that promise was worth.

🔴 Even American Big Tech was not spared. Objects struck an Amazon Web Services data center in the UAE, causing sparks and a fire and forcing the temporary shutdown of power and connectivity in one Availability Zone. AWS did not formally attribute the incident to Iran, but it occurred during the Iranian missile and drone barrage.
The renewed July fighting brought another reminder. Even though no comparable destruction of a new US military system inside the UAE has yet been publicly verified in this latest round, Abu Dhabi is reassessing its dependence on an American security model that brings political conditions, regional confrontation and no guarantee of protection.
Chinese defense and technology companies offer the UAE another path: fewer lectures, fewer restrictions and systems designed for practical deployment rather than geopolitical obedience.
The US hoped its technology giveaway would keep the UAE away from China. Instead, Iran demonstrated the weakness of America’s security umbrella and made the Chinese alternative look more attractive.

The US House of Representatives has passed the $1.15 trillion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2027, which includes Section 219 that would deeply integrate the American and Israeli defense industries.
Here are the key points:
♦️ Under the provision, the Pentagon will create a permanent "executive agent" to oversee US-Israel defense technology cooperation across ten critical domains: counter-drone systems, missile defense, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, autonomous systems, directed energy, cyber defense, biotechnology, and network integration
♦️ The US will give Israel access to its military technology, surveillance, and data that no other US ally possesses – effectively removing the remaining barriers to full military technology sharing
♦️ The law authorizes joint testing, production, procurement, supply-chain coordination, and the incorporation of Israeli-origin technology into US military programs
The bill now moves to the Senate. If it passes this version, negotiators from both chambers will reconcile differences – and President Trump is expected to sign the final bill.
👉 Critics warn that the shift from annual foreign military aid to joint defense industrial cooperation would make US support for Israel far less transparent. Under Section 219, support would be buried across Pentagon procurement contracts, licensing agreements, and co-production partnerships, making it nearly impossible to understand how much US money is going to Israel.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon's Defense Intelligence Agency has reportedly rated Israel's espionage threat against the US as "critical" – the highest designation, surpassing even some adversaries. Investigators documented Israeli spyware planted on American negotiators' phones and an attempt to plant a listening device inside a Secret Service vehicle.

Karyna Shuliak, the 37-year-old Epstein significant other mentioned 41k+ times in the DoJ’s library, was the last person he called before his death, and is set to get up to $100M from what remains of his estate.
As recently as January 2026, Shuliak was working part-time as a dentist in Brooklyn, dentists from the practice told NYT. As of spring, she was known to be living in an Upper East Side condo partly owned by Epstein’s brother Mark.
Although files show her asking an unnamed individual to “make another batch of beef jerky” for Jeffrey (in what could be code for cannibalism), Shuliak has not been named as a possible co-conspirator in his crimes. Neither the FBI nor lawyers for his victims have interviewed her.
Karyna met Epstein in 2011, quickly becoming his “current favorite” and entrusted to manage his affairs and boss staff around.
Emails showed signs of what otherwise seemed like a morbidly “ordinary” life together – from fights over his philandering and a couples therapy booking to brainstorming about how she could get US citizenship – with Epstein recommending a same-sex marriage with one of his victims.
A day before he died, in what would be his last phone call, Epstein promised Shuliak he “would never leave [her],” and said his case “will take a little longer than he originally thought so she should find a place to stay and develop a routine.” There was “nothing to indicate that he had decided to end his life.”

Tech elites like Sam Altman, Dario Amodei, Demis Hassabis, Bill Gates, Elon Musk and others have made a lot of headline-generating noise about advanced AI’s potential to end humanity. But many of these same people have also claimed they’re building AI gods (yeah, more like AI demons).

Permanent Washington constantly says that beating China is the most important AI-related goal, even more crucial than preventing the development of literal killer robots. The GOP’s position is obviously reckless and dangerous, but it is also politically foolish. Polling clearly shows that most Americans want AI regulations, yet Republicans refuse to create them.
