Putin said that Western nations had a right to do whatever they wanted to do but that "the overwhelming majority of Russian society" rejected these new ways of thinking.

"But there is one thing I would like to say: The recipes they come up with are nothing new. Paradoxical as it may seem, this is something we saw in Russia. It happened in our country before and after the 1917 revolution, the Bolsheviks followed the dogmas of Marx and Engels. And they also declared that they would change the traditional lifestyle, the political, the economic lifestyle, as well as the very notion of morality, the basic principles for a healthy society. They were trying to destroy age-old and century-long values, revisiting the relationship between the people, they were encouraging informing on one's own beloved, and families. It was hailed as the march of progress. And it was very popular across the world and it was supported by many, as we see, and it is happening right now."

The January 6th peaceful protest was turned into a "terrorist insurrection" to prevent people from protesting.
Speaking out at School Board meetings was also recast as a terrorist act to keep people from influencing school boards.
Challenging racial preferences was recast as "racist" to prevent peaceful collaboration with people of different races.
Perhaps the overheated scapegoating of Russia which criminalized communications between conservatives of America and conservatives in Russia was intended to keep us from collaborating on our shared values.
Biden is using technology as an excuse to question whether a democracy can survive in the modern world:

On the House floor, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) stated that an alleged hitman attempted to murder him and was stopped by Capitol Police and submitted to the Department of Justice for arrest, but Attorney General Merrick Garland refused to pursue him.
“I think someone may be trying to kill me and if they are successful, I would like my constituents and my family to know who stopped their arrest,” Rep Gaetz said Wednesday.
Gaetz reported that Twitter user CIABOBISATYOURDOOR sent him a message reading: “Lookie here pal. I lived in Portland. Portland has ordered a hit on you. I accepted the contract. Have a good day.”
The suspect also tweeted, “I am going to wipe you off the surface of the Earth.”
“Following this tweet, the individual traveled to DC and the Capitol Police recommended his arrest,” Gaetz said. “The Department of Justice refused to do so.”
“It is just yet another example of the Department of Justice having a double standard,” Gaetz continued. “If my name weren’t Gaetz, if it were Omar or Tlaib, you bet this person would have been arrested. Because that’s what the Capitol Police recommended. But the Department of Justice doesn’t seem to care so much when it’s Republicans.”
The suspect’s Twitter, which has since been suspended, is filled with rambling and threatening messages.
Incidentally, the man claimed he was tortured by the CIA.
While the man may be mentally ill, he looks like he would serve as a great patsy.
It must be noted that this threat came just two weeks after Gaetz accused the government of Israel of being behind the $25 million extortion plot targeting his family.

Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) referred to as a “cruel” and “reprehensible misuse of taxpayer funds.”
