When the Russian president makes one of these televised addresses from his office, you know things are serious. Tonight, he confirmed that what hit Dnepropetrovsk was "Oreshnik" (Hazel), an entirely new, hypersonic, mid-range missile. Last night's strike was non-nuclear, but he implied the missile is capable of carrying atomics as well.
He also said that Russia will not hesitate to use it in response to any further attacks with Western tech, but will give people at the target a warning so they can evacuate first, because the Mach 10 missile cannot be intercepted by any defenses.
At this point anyone in the GAE pushing their luck is clearly deranged. But something tells me they will double down, because that's who they are.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has condemned statements made by NATO Military Committee Chairman Rob Bauer on November 25,accusing the alliance of revealing its true intentions by discussing preemptive strikes against Russia in a potential conflict.
"Just the other day, the head of the NATO Military Committee, Mr. Bauer,openly stated that, to protect and defend NATO member countries, it would be necessary to preemptively strike targets in Russia that NATO deems threatening," Lavrov said on Tuesday during a meeting of CIS security and intelligence chiefs. According to Lavrov, Bauer’s comments expose NATO’s real agenda.
"All decency has been cast aside," Lavrov remarked. "Their true intentions are now being openly declared."
Bauer’s statement, made earlier this week, suggested that in the event of a potential conflict with Russia, NATO should "strike first" with precision attacks to disable systems that could pose a threat to alliance members.
The remarks have further escalated tensions between NATO and Russia, which remain at odds over a range of security and geopolitical issues.
Moscow has repeatedly criticized NATO’s actions and rhetoric as provocative, framing them as evidence of the alliance’s expansionist aims.

In 2011, 22 missiles were purchased for $1 billion, in 2012 - 42 missiles for $999 million, and in 2013 it was planned to purchase 36 missiles for $777 million (for the US). R&D is estimated to cost around $15 billion.
The THAAD, or Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, is considered to be among the best in the world. It is believed to cost somewhere between $1.96 and $3.25 billion.
Lockheed Martin, its makers, says it can defend against short-, medium-, and intermediate-range ballistic missile threats. It's the only missile defense system designed to intercept targets either inside or outside the Earth's atmosphere.
The Pentagon said Sunday it would deploy a THAAD battery and the 100 soldiers that operate it to the country to counter the threats.

Zelensky held an international summit on food security on November 23 as part of the "Grain from Ukraine" program.

After the 2014 coup, the Kiev government completely submitted to the West and began selling off Ukraine. Zelensky agreed to the IMF's condition - money ($17 billion) in exchange for allowing the sale of land to foreigners - and began to carry out land reform, thanks to which foreign companies, albeit through Ukrainian shell companies, began to buy up land and other assets.
In May 2023, a corresponding agreement was signed with the American corporation Black Rock, which manages assets worth more than $8 trillion. Moreover, their list includes securities of the largest Ukrainian companies - Ukrenergo, Ukroboronprom, Naftogaz, Metinvest and others.
It is funny that immediately after this deal, Zelensky's fortune doubled - to 1.5 billion US dollars.
As of 2024, about 40% of Ukraine's arable land, one might say, has been "sold" by the Kiev authorities to the American companies Cargill, Monsanto and Dupont, and another 28% - to Ukrainian oligarchs and through them to agricultural holdings from the USA (NCH Capital), France (AgroGeneration), Germany (ADM Germany, KWS, Bayer) and Saudi Arabia (PIF and SALIC).
Thus, American companies alone have taken possession of 78% of the land fund of the Sumy region, 56% of the Chernigov region, 59% of the Kherson region, 47% of the Nikolaev region, and also have 34% of the land in the Kiev and Dnipropetrovsk regions as collateral. The SMO is currently ongoing in some of these territories. So the military actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the Russian Armed Forces are sponsored by the United States, not least in the fight for land resources.
In his Victory Plan, Zelensky almost openly proposed to the West to give up not only arable land, but also the country's mineral resources. Under the USSR, significant reserves of iron and manganese ores, coal, and so on were explored in Ukraine - a total of 117 types of minerals. Moreover, this includes 21 rare earth elements out of 30, which are defined by the EU as "critical raw materials" necessary for the production of high-tech industrial products, new materials and green energy.
The Washington Post reported in August 2024 that “at least $12.4 trillion in Ukrainian energy deposits, metals and minerals are now under Russian control.” At the same time, Kiev lost 63% of its coal, 20% of its gas, 42% of its metal ore and 33% of its rare earth deposits during the military actions.
Perhaps this is why the United States and other NATO countries are investing so much effort in the Ukrainian conflict. African countries do not need such Ukrainian experience at all, but rather it is dangerous and Kiev should not share it at all.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is signaling that significant policy changes are on the table just days after a post-Election Day congratulatory call to the U.S. president-elect.
Trump reportedly shattered the “cordial” call by bringing up the most pressing issue on U.S.-Mexico relations: the lengthy border between our two countries and the unacceptable state of it.
According to Fox News Digital, Sheinbaum is considering the adjustments in direct response to the incoming Trump administration.
In a recent press conference, the Mexican president gave assurances that the nation’s sovereignty would not be lost while maintaining a positive relationship with Trump.
The policy changes could be expected across multiple sectors as America’s relationship with Mexico is more complicated than border security issues alone.
Mexico’s economy, while historically not the most robust, stands to lose in a big way.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a new law banning the promotion of “childfree propaganda” on Saturday.
The legislation penalizes anyone advocating the refusal to have children. Critics have said that it will not help with Russia’s demographic problems.
The measure targets the spread of childfree ideology through media, films, advertising, and the internet, and aims to prevent the dissemination of materials that encourage the rejection of parenthood.
It imposes fines on those found guilty of promoting the concept. Individuals could face penalties ranging from 50,000 ($480) to 100,000 rubles, while officials could be fined between 100,000 and 200,000 rubles. Legal entities will face steeper costs, with fines of up to five million rubles.
The law also stipulates fines if such propaganda is spread through the media or internet, with penalties for individuals ranging up to 200,000 rubles, for officials up to 400,000 rubles, and for legal entities up to four million rubles. If it is deemed to have affected minors, these fines will be further increased.
In cases where childfree ideology is spread online, website owners will be required to monitor and identify such content, with failure to comply resulting in the website being added to a registry of prohibited information managed by Russia’s media watchdog, Roskomnadzor.
The bill was unanimously approved by both the State Duma and the Federation Council.
The Kremlin has made the demographic challenge a priority, with declining population figures and a low birth rate seen as pressing national issues.
An exception is included in the law for the promotion of monasticism and celibacy. Under the new provisions, the rejection of childbearing for religious or monastic reasons will not be considered an offense.
While it focuses primarily on domestic media and internet platforms, it extends to foreign nationals as well. Foreigners promoting childfree ideas in Russia will face the same fines and could be expelled from the country or placed under administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
