Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Uber are among firms that will invest around $10 million each in consortium that will govern digital coin.

According to a Reuters report, Facebook registered a new company, Libra Networks, in Geneva on May 2. This coincides with the slow roll-out of their internal cryptocurrency that will define the company’s first foray into blockchain technology.
Facebook Global Holdings is a stockholder in the new company and it will, according to Reuters, “provide financial and technology services and develop related hardware and software, plans submitted on the Swiss register reveal.”
Facebook’s march towards crypto has been slow and steady. The company’s latest move, the hiring of two Coinbase compliance managers, happened on May 14.
The Libra project has ruffled some feathers in Congress, as well. US lawmakers sent an open letter to the company seeking clarification on the currency’s purpose and implications.

The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Facebook is recruiting dozens of financial firms and online merchants to help launch a cryptocurrency-based payments system using its social network. Last year, Facebook asked U.S. banks to share detailed financial information about consumers. In addition, privacy experts have raised questions about Facebook’s extensive data collection practices and whether any of the data collected by Facebook is being used for purposes that do or should subject Facebook to the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

It is planning to set up a digital payments system in about a dozen countries by the first quarter of 2020. The social media giant wants to start testing its crypto-currency, which has been referred to internally as GlobalCoin, by the end of this year.
Facebook is expected to outline plans in more detail this summer, and has already spoken to Bank of England governor Mark Carney. Founder Mark Zuckerberg met Mr Carney last month to discuss the opportunities and risks involved in launching a crypto-currency.
Facebook has also sought advice on operational and regulatory issues from officials at the US Treasury.
The firm is also in talks with money transfer firms including Western Union as it looks for cheaper and faster ways for people without a bank account to send and receive money.

Facebook wants to create a digital currency that provides affordable and secure ways of making payments, regardless of whether users have a bank account.
The social networking site, which owns WhatsApp and Instagram, is hoping to disrupt existing networks by breaking down financial barriers, competing with banks and reducing consumer costs.

The family at the center of a defamation lawsuit against Oberlin College hugged in celebration Thursday when a jury granted them $33 million in punitive damages on top of the $11 million compensatory award they’re already owed by the liberal arts school.
The newly decided punitive damages — money awarded to plaintiffs in a civil lawsuit to punish defendants and defer future bad conduct — were broken down by the jury into $17.5 million for David Gibson, $8.75 million for family patriarch Allyn Gibson, and $6.97 million for their company, Gibson Bros, Inc.
Gibson attorney Owen Rarric pointed out that the college has over $1.4 billion in total assets. He said that the college’s endowment — a pool of money donated to the college — holds a total of $887 million. He stated that annual student charges for tuition and room and board are roughly $70,000.
A contentious piece of evidence during the trial was a flyer printed and handed out by students during November, 2016 protests against Gibson’s Bakery. The flyer read “DON’T BUY.,” and stated “This is a RACIST establishment with a long account of RACIAL PROFILING and DISCRIMINATION. Today we urge you to shop elsewhere in light of a particularly heinous event involving the owners of this establishment and local law enforcement.”
“When powerful institutions follow their agendas rather than the truth... and when they inflict harm on members of the community and don’t accept responsibility for that harm, every once in a while you’re going to have some brave souls — like the Gibson family and this jury — who will say, ‘enough is enough,’” he said. “[They] will say ‘we’re not going to tolerate this in our society’ and that we're going to hold you accountable.”

Florida Just Passed The Toughest Sanctuary City Ban In The Nation

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis just signed into law the toughest sanctuary cities bill ban in the nation, keeping a campaign promise despite apoplectic, snarky media coverage.
DeSantis today signed Senate Bill 168 requiring Florida law enforcement officials and governmental entities to honor federal “immigration detainer” requests that ask a law enforcement agency to detain someone on probable cause that they can be removed from the country under federal immigration laws. That is, they are here illegally and will be sent home. Because law enforcement is holding them, that means they either have or are accused of committing crimes beyond illegal entry into the U.S.
In sanctuary cities around the nation, law officers cannot hold them for Immigration officials, but must release them back into the population.
The new law prohibits local officials from implementing any sort of “sanctuary” policies, which problematically had previously not been defined in state law, and gives the governor the authority to remove officials from office if they do not comply with the law.
Sanctuary cities are popular in liberal states and in some cities in red states. But they are also havens for criminals who obviously flock to those areas where they will be protected from the feds.
DeSantis called them “law-free zones” where people who are here illegally can commit crimes, and then “just walk out the door and continue to do it.”
“A survey from Harvard–Harris Poll provided exclusively to The Hill found that 80 percent of voters say local authorities should have to comply with the law by reporting to federal agents the illegal immigrants they come into contact with.”

Obama and Clinton weaponized the federal government against their political opponents - a clear violation of the Hatch Act. They know these charges are coming so they are trying to delegitimize the Hatch Act by applying it in an absurd way- to take out one of President Trump’s most effective advisors - Kellyanne Conway:

The Hatch Act bars federal employees from engaging in political activity.
“The U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) calls on President Donald J. Trump to remove Ms. Conway from her federal position immediately,” the agency wrote in a letter to the White House. “[K]ellyanne Conway violated the Hatch Act on numerous occasions by disparaging Democratic presidential candidates while speaking in her official capacity during television interviews and on social media,” the letter stated.
In May 2019 during a media interview, when asked about the Hatch Act, Kellyanne Conway said, “If you’re trying to silence me through the Hatch Act, it’s not going to work,” and “Let me know when the jail sentence starts.”

President Donald Trump just delivered a clear message and it’s looking good for Conway’s job security.
“I’m not gonna fire her. I think she’s a terrific person. She’s a tremendous spokesperson,” Trump said.
The report was distributed by the U.S. Office of Special Counsel — a group different from the federal entity Robert Mueller oversaw.
Trump made it clear he wants Conway to be able to give full-throated responses to the questions she is asked.
“It looks to me like they’re trying to take away her right of free speech,” Trump said. When asked if Conway should adjust her tactics, Trump responded, “It doesn’t work that way. A person wouldn’t be able to express themselves, and I just don’t see it.”
“The Office of Special Counsel’s unprecedented actions against Kellyanne Conway are deeply flawed and violate her constitutional rights to free speech and due process,” Steven Groves, a White House spokesman, said in a statement, according to Washington Examiner. “Others, of all political views, have objected to the OSC’s unclear and unevenly applied rules which have a chilling effect on free speech for all federal employees. Its decisions seem to be influenced by media pressure and liberal organizations — and perhaps OSC should be mindful of its own mandate to act in a fair, impartial, non-political manner, and not misinterpret or weaponize the Hatch Act,” Groves said.

CrowdStrike Coincidences?
Crowdstrike is essentially a spook information technology organization. It is the modern high tech equivalent of a Security Services company. They are information technology contractors for parts of the government and businesses, with apparently more power than the FBI. They have access and control with many parts of the federal government. CrowdStrike is also an FBI private contractor with "unrestricted illegal access" to top secret information, according to Judge Rosemary Collyer. CrowdStrike's computer software customers include Congress, the White House, the State Department, Democratic National Committee, the White House, the State Department, SONY, and Google.

When the DNC claimed to have been hacked, it called in Crowdstrike as an expert and refused to let the FBI examine the server. CrowdStrike had control of the server and thus had more power than the FBI did.
There have been cases where CrowdStrike pointed the finger at foreign nations (as in Russia Russia Russia) while other authorities disputed their claims.

"Seth Rich was killed on July 10th, 2016. The next day, CrowdStrike, an FBI contractor and IT company, received a check for $98,849.84 from the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
Rich worked for the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Many believe based on multiple lines of evidence that it was Seth Rich that leaked the Clinton emails on a flash drive. Seth Rich was working in voter outreach IT for the Clinton organization and was a Bernie supporter. CrowdStrike claimed it was the Russians hack that did the leak, even though it has been well argued that a physical flash drive must have been used.
Shawn Lucas was killed on Aug. 2nd, 2016. The next day, CrowdStrike received a check for $113,645.77 from the DNC.
Lucas delivered a law suit to DNC headquarters for a local court. The suit alleged the Democratic Party committed fraud by rigging their primary election in favor of Hillary Clinton.
The source of the check information is the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
Given Crowdstrike's role in the DNC server "hack" and that they were pushing the same bogus Russian hack theory as Mueller's report, CrowdStrike is deeply involved in the whole setup of the Trump Russia Hoax, as well as an integral part of the Deep State.
Were the payments timing a mere coincidence?
It seems that "CrowdStrike" may be more than just a name….
