Evening News - Coronavirus - 1 February 2020

At this point it is hard to know just how infectious and how lethal the virus is because:

A) The Chinese government has not been very forthcoming in an attempt to save face.  They are doing better than with SARS but not up to western standards,  Our CDC has been denied access.

B) Many people are unable or unwilling to bring their cases to the attention of the medical authorities because their medical system is swamped and has very limited supplies of testing kits, transportation is unavailable, and there is reasonable fear of catching the coronavirus while waiting for medical attention.

C) Some deaths have been labeled heart attack, pneumonia etc. without attributing it to the virus.

D) Lack of transportation and gasoline and hiding means many people are simply of unknown status.

E) Medical systems are much less functional in China than in the Western World.

At this point the published lethality and the rate of infection are just estimates and models.  Current public estimates are not very alarming - comparable to the flu.

I have a friend who has contacts at the CDC and she has confirmed that the incubation period is up to 14 days.  The average being reported seems to be about 5.2 days and the minimum appears to be 3 days.  A person can be infectious even though they have no symptoms.

In any case:

The best way to avoid getting sick from the new virus is to wash your hands with soap and water. If soap and water aren't available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. That's the same advice for avoiding regular cold and flu viruses.

All viruses are small enough to get through a typical strap-on medical mask, but the germs don't generally spread through the air one at a time, said Dr. Mark Denison of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Denison studies SARS and MERS, which are coronaviruses, the same family as the new virus.

Instead, viruses ride from person to person on droplets from a sneeze or cough. Those droplets land on hands and other surfaces, where they are touched by others, who then touch their own eyes, noses or mouths.

Masks can block large droplets from a sneeze or cough. That means they have some value, Denison said.

Also, someone in a mask can't touch their own nose and mouth. That can prevent the wearer from picking up germs left on surfaces by someone who is sick, he said.

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-01-masks-virus.html

Suggestion:  Wash your hands as soon as you come home.  Bring a small bottle of disinfectant with you.  If your face itches douse your fingers with disinfectant first before giving in to the urge to scratch.

There is a great deal of media coverage of estimates.  Since that is not really well known, and are subject to change, this report will instead focus on the remarkable things that have been happening with regards to the virus that are not being covered in the establishment media.  For risk estimates we should wait until more is known.

On to the more curious virus news:

Long story short…

There have been several people arrested in recent days for spying for China and at least two cases where the perpetrators were smuggling dangerous pathogens to Wuhan China which is the point of origin of the virus.

A husband and wife Chinese spy team were recently removed from a Level 4 Infectious Disease facility in Canada for sending pathogens to the Wuhan facility. The husband specialized in coronavirus research. #coronaviruschina

Federal prosecutors on Tuesday charged a top Harvard University scientist with lying to the Department of Defense about his work for a Chinese-run talent recruitment program.  Charles M. Lieber, the chair of Harvard's Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, allegedly violated federal law by not disclosing his involvement in China's Thousand Talents Plan to the Defense Department, including money he received, according to the charging document.

"The charges brought by the U.S. government against Professor Lieber are extremely serious," Harvard said in a statement. "Harvard is cooperating with federal authorities, including the National Institutes of Health, and is initiating its own review of the alleged misconduct."

The university added that Lieber has been put on "indefinite administrative leave."

The Thousand Talents program tries to recruit experts from Western universities to work in China and ramp up its progress in science and technology. In a complaint, the FBI said the program has "rewarded individuals for stealing proprietary information and violating export controls."

The charging documents, unsealed Tuesday, allege that under the Thousand Talents contract Lieber was paid $50,000 in monthly salary by China's Wuhan University of Technology and another $158,000 in living expenses. He was also awarded some $1.74 million to set up a research lab there.

Lieber additionally made false statements to the National Institutes of Health about his involvement in the recruitment plan and his affiliation with the Chinese university. He was in federal custody as of Tuesday afternoon, a senior federal law enforcement official told NBC News.

"The second indictment is a Chinese national who was working as a researcher at Boston University. Lelling said Yanqing Ye is a lieutenant of the Chinese military, but failed to disclose that while applying for a U.S. visa. Ye is currently in China and has not been arrested.

“A border search of her electronic devices showed that Ye had complied information for the People’s Liberation Army about two U.S. residents with expertise in robotics and computer science,” said Lelling.

Boston University said Ye left the school in April 2019 and they are fully cooperating with the investigation.

The third indictment is Chinese national Zaosong Zheng who was sponsored by Harvard and working as a researcher at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was allegedly caught at Logan Airport in December trying to smuggle biological material out of the country.

Beth Israel Deaconess released a statement of its own:

We are deeply proud of the breadth and depth of our research programs. Any efforts to compromise research undermine the hard work of our faculty and staff to advance patient care. We are grateful for the diligence and professionalism of federal law enforcement in this case and are fully cooperating with the government’s ongoing investigation of this matter."

https://boston.cbslocal.com/2020/01/28/massachusetts-china-indictments-charles-lieber-yanqing-ye-zaosong-zheng/ "Work on biological weapons is conducted as part of a dual civilian-military research and is “definitely covert,”

Radio Free Asia this week rebroadcast a local Wuhan television report from 2015 showing China’s most advanced virus research laboratory known the Wuhan Institute of VirologyRadio Free Asia reported. The laboratory is the only declared site in China known as P4 for Pathogen Level 4, a status indicating it uses the strictest safety standards to prevent the spread of the most dangerous and exotic microbes being studied.  Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory at the institute as engaged in research on the Ebola, Nipah, and Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever viruses. In 1993, China declared a second facility, the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products, as one of eight biological warfare research facilities covered by the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) which China joined in 1985.China’s vaccine against SARS is probably produced there.“This means the SARS virus is held and propagated there, but it is not a new coronavirus, unless the wild type has been modified, which is not known and cannot be speculated at the moment,” https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/jan/24/virus-hit-wuhan-has-two-laboratories-linked-chines/ There has been full disclosure of the genome of the virus allowing researchers to identify where some of the genetic material came from.  Most of it came from a bat coronavirus, but there was an unexplained part.  Researchers in India have published their findings as to the identity of the unknown part.

Publishing this got ZeroHedge kicked off of Twitter:

"Over the past few days, the mainstream press has vigorously pushed back against a theory about the origins of the coronavirus that has now infected as many as 70,000+ people in Wuhan alone (depending on whom you believe). The theory is that China obtained the coronavirus via a Canadian research program, and started molding it into a bioweapon at the Institute of Virology in Wuhan. Politifact pointed the finger at Zero Hedge, in particular, though the story was widely shared across independent-leaning media.

The theory is that the virus, which was developed by infectious disease experts to function as a bio-weapon, originated in the Wuhan-based lab of Dr. Peng Zhou, China's preeminent researcher of bat immune systems, specifically in how their immune systems adapt to the presence of viruses like coronavirus and other destructive viruses. Somehow, the virus escaped from the lab, and the Hunan fish market where the virus supposedly originated is merely a ruse.

Now, a respected epidemiologist who recently caught flack for claiming in a twitter threat that the virus appeared to be much more contagious than initially believed is pointing out irregularities in the virus's genome that suggests it might have been genetically engineered for the purposes of a weapon, and not just any weapon but the deadliest one of all. In "Uncanny similarity of unique inserts in the 2019-nCoV spike protein to HIV-1 gp120 and Gag", Indian researchers are baffled by segments of the virus's RNA that have no relation to other coronaviruses like SARS, and instead appear to be closer to HIV. The virus even responds to treatment by HIV medications. "

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/coronavirus-contains-hiv-insertions-stoking-fears-over-artificially-created-bioweapon An institute controlled by Bill Gates just happens to have a patent issued in 2008 for use of a live genetically attenuated coronavirus.  It included a vaccine made of live coronaviruses to be injected into humans:

https://patents.justia.com/patent/10130701

The Pirbright Institute, which has been funded by globalist oligarch and vaccine pusher Bill Gates, has a patent on the booksfor coronavirus.

“The present invention provides a live, attenuated coronavirus comprising a variant replicate gene encoding polyproteins comprising a mutation in one or more of non-structural protein(s) (nsp)-10, nsp-14, nsp-15 or nsp-16. The coronavirus may be used as a vaccine for treating and/or preventing a disease, such as infectious bronchitis, in a subject,” the description of the patent reads.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is a known backer of the Pirbright Institute. They gave the institute $5.5 million just last year to create a Livestock Antibody Hub for disease research in humans and animals. They are deeply involved in the business of vaccine pushing.

Before this year’s very real coronavirus pandemic that started in China and is now sweeping the globe, a “fictional” simulation of such an event was sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation last year.Event 201, which was hosted by the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, took place in October 2018 and featured a simulation in which a novel zoonotic coronavirus spread throughout the world and caused 65 million deaths worldwide.

https://bigleaguepolitics.com/hmm-coronavirus-patent-is-owned-by-vaccine-production-institute-funded-by-bill-gates/ Furthermore, there is also a company that is partly funded by Soros that is also in Wuhan and deals with dangerous pathogens, genetic engineering, and other related things.  Given the substantiated reports of medical fetus use and organ harvesting from political prisoners, it is plausible that the normal safeguards around such research are non-existent.

This is the company:

WuXi AppTec Group ( WuXi pronounced Wu-shi ) is a global pharmaceuticalbiopharmaceutical, and medical device company. The company covers the development cycle through five core operations, including small molecule R&D and manufacturing, biologics R&D and manufacturing, cell therapy and gene therapy R&D and manufacturing, medical device testing, and molecular testing and genomics.WuXi AppTec Group provides services to its customers primarily in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and other life science industries, as well as research institutes, disease-focused and non-profit foundations. There are 5 areas of focus for services:Small Molecule Therapeutics R&D, Manufacturing and TestingBiologicals Therapeutics R&D and ManufacturingGene- and Cell-based Therapies ManufacturingMedical Device TestingGenomics and Molecular Diagnostics.

As a world leading technology and capability platform in chemistry, biology, oncology, and immunology, we aim to provide open access and integrated services and solutions to take your research and drug discovery to the next level.https://www.wuxiapptec.com/services/drug As recently as 13 January they were announcing the use of viruses for gene therapy development:

WuXi Advanced Therapies, a leading global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) offering end-to-end contract services for the advance therapies industry, announced today the expansion of its service capabilities by offering a fully integrated adeno-associated virus (AAV) Vector Suspension Platform to help accelerate the timeline for cell and gene therapy development, manufacturing and release while providing greater predictability.

In November they announced using viruses to fight cancers:

WuXi PharmaTech Inc is owned in part by Soros.

Ironically, they have a facility at 666 Gaoxin Road East Lake High-tech Development Zone Wuhan 430075, Chinahttps://mobile.twitter.com/ryxc1128/status/1221354316813881344 Genome analysis:

"Our structural analyses confidently predict that the Wuhan coronavirus uses ACE2 as its hostreceptor," the investigators wrote. That and several other structural details of the new virus are consistent with the ability of the Wuhan coronavirus to infect humans and with some capability to transmit among humans.

"Alarmingly, our data predict that a single mutation [at a specific spot in the genome] could significantly enhance [the Wuhan coronavirus's] ability to bind with human ACE2," the investigators write. For this reason, Wuhan coronavirus evolution in patients should be closely monitored for the emergence of novel mutations at the 501 position in its genome, and to a lesser extent, the 494 position, in order to predict the possibility of a more serious outbreak than has been seen so far.

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-01-coronavirus-receptors-similarities-sars-cov-analysis.html Now there is yet another more lethal but less infectious virus in the same area:

Perhaps not a coincidence, there has been an outbreak of Avian Flu in the province bordering the province Wuhan is in.  The Avian Flu can be caught by humans and its death rate is 60%. I find this alarming because of potential viral mixing and recombination with the two viruses: "As China grapples with the rampant Wuhan coronavirus, another sickness has broken out in the country: the deadly H5N1 bird flu.The outbreak took place at a farm near Shaoyang city, in China’s central Hunan province, the country’s Ministry of Agriculture announced on Saturday. 4,500 of the farm’s 7,850 chickens have died from the illness, and local authorities have culled nearly 20,000 birds to contain its spread.H5N1 is an avian flu virus that causes severe respiratory disease in birds, and is contagious to humans. No human victims have yet been reported, but the World Health Organization (WHO) statesthat more than 350 people have died from the virus since it first spread to humans in Hong Kong in the late 1990s.H5N1 is a far deadlier virus to those who contract it. Nearly 60 percent of H5N1 patients die after contracting the sickness, compared to two percent of Wuhan coronavirus (2019 nCoV) patients thus far.Hunan province is bordered to the north by Hubei province, whose capital city, Wuhan, is the epicenter of the current coronavirus epidemic. "https://www.rt.com/news/479871-china-bird-flu-coronavirus/ Thus in addition to the dual use Biological Weapons facility in Wuhan China, there are also other private laboratories using viruses extensively, laboratories that have at least some ownership by people who are proponents of lower world population as well as anti-Trump. Given the timing of this it is a convenient news distraction from the current exposing of the Deep State corruption and the impeachment attempt by the Democrats.

Also convenient is the effect this virus has had on the revolution brewing in China. China is in a n economic downturn thanks to the trade policies of President Trump.  Massive demonstrations of pro-American protesters have been happening in Hong Kong.  Millions of people were going to travel over the Chinese New Year to visit friends and families where they could communicate freely without the censorship of the Chinese government.

Now there are not massive street demonstrations of thousands in Hong Kong.  It put a stop to the free communication as well as the demonstrations.

At the same time it is a huge economic and political problem for the Chinese government because over 50 million people are under quarantine with limited food and other necessities.  This has led to rebellion as well: This brave Chinese man tell what it is like inside the quarantine zone:

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/01/watch-wuhan-citizen-risks-his-life-to-tell-the-truth-about-the-coronavirus-situation-in-wuhan-china/ Also this: Shocking videos circulating on social media purportedly show Chinese citizens rioting and fighting with police to prevent the construction of a coronavirus patient quarantine center in their community.

The police clashed on Tuesday with residents of a village in the coastal province of Fujian after it was revealed that the government planned to convert a factory into a quarantine site for patients with the dangerous coronavirus. Several people were reportedly arrested in the village of Dasha, where residents’ fears and anger over the proposed site spilled into the street. In videos recorded by residents, villagers are seen blocking a road and throwing wooden stools at police officers, who marched through the town in riot gear. Residents said they were given no warning about the plans and only learned that their village would host the sick when hospital beds and other materials began arriving.  “The factory is only several minutes’ walk away from our village,” said one resident who asked only to be identified by her family name, Zheng, for fear of government reprisals. “Given the lack of information from the government, there is reason that villagers are panicking.”

U.S. health officials said that they have been offering for weeks to send experts to help China combat the coronavirus that has claimed at least 106 lives.

At press conference Tuesday, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said the U.S.  first offered to send experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on January 6 but China has not yet accepted the offer.“CDC experts are standing by, ready willing and able to go immediately to China, either on a bilateral basis or under the auspices of the World Health Organization,” Azar said. “This is a major public health issue and we basically just need the best public health people we have in the world working on this.”U.S. personnel could aid China in answering critical public health questions about how the virus spreads, its incubation period, and if it can be spread by those not yet showing symptoms, CDC Director Robert Redfield said.“We are urging China: more cooperation and transparency are the most important steps you can take toward a more effective response,” Azar said.

https://nationalfile.com/photo-of-coronavirus-hospital-posted-by-chinese-state-newspaper-is-actually-alibaba-stock-photo/What is the prognosis for America?  Time will tell.  There are cases where many people were exposed and then let loose unknowingly.  People can be infectious before symptoms and symptoms can be absent for 14 days.

Some troubling cases for the western world:Thirty high school students in Palm Beach County have been told to stay home because they may have been exposed to coronavirus at a weekend conference. The group had attended a Model United Nations event at Yale University in Connecticut that was cut short when the university notified participants that a student from China with a cough and fever had been taken to Yale New Haven Hospital. The Chinese student tested positive for influenza and has been isolated while awaiting test results for coronavirus.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, symptoms of coronavirus show up two to 14 days after exposure to the virus. In the meantime, The Benjamin School asked the group of conference participants to stay away from classes on the Palm Beach Gardens campus. At this time, no other students have come forward with symptoms.“There were hundreds of young men and women at the Yale Model UN, so there is no way to tell if our students had any contact with the student in question or the rest of the group from China,” said Juan Carlos Fanjul, chief development officer for The Benjamin School, which has 400 enrolled in its private upper school. “We have been in close contact with Yale, which reports the test results for the student should come back mid-week.”Yale said more than 1,500 student delegates from cities around the world attended. “We will share updates when test results come back, but ... the one student who exhibited flu symptoms is in good condition,” a spokesperson for Yale said.

Meanwhile, universities across Florida are bringing students back who had been studying in China. Although Florida International University in Miami does not have any students in Wuhan, where coronavirus is spreading rapidly, the university has decided to cancel the current study-abroad program. FIU’s seven students in China are in the process of returning home and will continue their semester in South Florida.

A bus driver in Japan was diagnosed with the coronavirus.

This was the first person in Japan diagnosed with the virus who did not travel to the Chinese city of Wuhan.

The bus driver did drive tourists from Wuhan twice in December. So Wuhan travelers were spreading the virus in Japan back in December.

Note:  Since the bus driver and tour guide presumably gave other tours and rides to visitors from around the world, and it is possible to give the virus without symptoms, there may be many more from this.

Japan is making errors:

"Two of the three infected passengers showed no symptoms, according to Japanese authorities, underscoring the difficulty detecting the coronavirus.

Compounding fears, Japan was allowing the arrivals—more than 400 have been repatriated after a second flight landed in Tokyo on Thursday—to "self-quarantine".

The government said it could not legally require people to be tested or quarantined, and two people on the first flight refused testing.

That's despite Japanese officials already confirming two cases in which patients tested positive without having visited China.

In contrast, other countries organising evacuations said they were all planning on quarantining people."

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-01-deadliest-day-china-virus-global.html

In Japan, a tour guide and bus driver became infected after escorting two tour groups from Wuhan. In Germany, five employees of German auto parts supplier Webasto became ill after a Chinese colleague visited. The woman had shown no symptoms of the virus until her flight back to China.

"That's the kind of transmission chain that we don't want to see," said Marion Koopmans, an infectious diseases specialist at Erasmus University Medical Center in the Netherlands and a member of WHO's emergency committee.

On Friday, Thailand said a taxi driver became its first case of person-to-person spread. The Southeast Asian country, a popular travel destination for Chinese, has counted 19 cases in all.

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-01-china-virus-deaths.html

The US said Friday it was declaring a public health emergency and temporarily banning the entry of foreign nationals who had traveled to China over the past two weeks to contain the spread of a deadly new virus.

"Foreign nationals, other than immediate family of US citizens and permanent residents who have traveled in China within the last 14 days will be denied entry into the United States for this time," said Alex Azar, secretary of the Health and Human Services department.

The order takes effect on February 2 from 5:00 pm eastern time (2200 GMT).

In addition, any US citizen returning from Hubei, the province at the center of the outbreak, will be subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine in a facility.

"Any US citizen returning to the United States who has been in the rest of mainland China within the previous 14 days will undergo proactive entry health screening at a select number of ports of entry and up to 14 days of monitored self quarantine," at home, added Azar.

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-01-entry-foreign-nationals-china.html No vaccine available even though Bill Gate’s funded institute had a patent on it issued back in 2008:

No manufacturer will have a coronavirus vaccine ready for use before the middle of 2020, despite an intensive global effort, a biotech executive told AFP on Friday. Stephane Bancel is chief executive of Moderna Therapeutics, one of several entities involved in an all-out international effort to create a vaccine as soon as possible for the deadly SARS-like virus, also known as nCoV-2019, that has already killed more than 200 people.

Moderna is working in coordination with the US National Institutes of Health, while Inovio Pharmaceuticals and the University of Queensland in Australia are pursuing alternative tracks.

They have all received funding from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), an international body established to finance costly biotechnology research.

But Bancel warned that "no manufacturer will be able to have a vaccine ready for the summer".

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-01-coronavirus-vaccine-months-biotech-exec.html On January 24, 2020, the French Ministry of Health confirmed the first three cases of patients affected by the Wuhan coronavirus. On January 29, 2020, the Institut Pasteur, which is responsible for monitoring respiratory viruses in France, sequenced the whole genome of the coronavirus known as "2019-nCoV", becoming the first institution in Europe to sequence the virus since the start of the outbreak.  Here it is:

Over the weekend of January 11-12, the Chinese authorities shared the full sequence of the coronavirus genome, as detected in samples taken from the first patients.

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-01-pasteur-sequences-genome-wuhan-coronavirus.html There are 3 scenarios:

1) The virus may not be very lethal or infectious.  In that case the Chinese authorities may be hyping it to shut down imminent rebellion in China.  It may be of natural origin in this case, and just a convenient excuse for the government to control unrest.

2) The virus may have been from an accidental release from one of the facilities handling viruses in Wuhan.  In this case it may be a biological weapon or it may be a vector used in research or development of other viruses.  The timing of the recent espionage, arrests and smuggling of pathogens suggest this may be related to a weapons program.

3) The virus may have been an intentional release for some or all of  the following purposes: Shut down of rebellion in China. (Chinese authorities)

Distraction from the Deep State corruption exposure currently reaching a climax in the US and around the world (Deep State/Soros etc.)

An attempt to remove the unproductive elderly from the population in China by the Chinese as an economic measure (Chinese authorities)

Reduction of world population to reduce global warming/climate change. (Deep State/Soros/High-Tech environmentalists)

4) I should add a 4th possibility accordingly - virulent but natural.  It would be quite the coincidence of location and timing which are strong evidence against that:  Lunar New Year travel is the best time to spread the disease throughout China. The only level 4 facility in China is the Wuhan Institute of Virology near the point of first contagion.  Only now have there been the arrests for biological warfare espionage. Perhaps most timely is the media distraction conveniently away from revealing what the high level Democrats have been doing - wreaking corruption and organized crime world-wide. The next couple weeks will be revealing as to how much of a problem we have here, and thus which of these possibilities is likely to be correct.
