Pelosi accused AG Barr of committing the crime of lying to Congress yesterday.  Democrats planned to use that to indite Barr.  Today Mueller slaps her down:

BREAKING: Special Counsel Mueller “deeply disturbed” by Pelosi accusations against AG Barr today and is urging Nadler to push up his hearing to testify and correct the record as soon as possible - @OANN

A new poll from CNN is bad news for Obama and the Democratic Party.

“The American public increasingly feels that Democrats in Congress are going too far in investigating the President,” CNN reports. “44% say Democrats are doing too much on that score, up from 38% saying so in March. That shift stems largely from independents, 46% of whom now say congressional Democrats are going too far.” And that was before Democrats wasted a whole day moaning and groaning about Attorney General William Barr’s memo about the Mueller report, which Robert Mueller told Barr was accurate.

But the most interesting part of the is that “69% think Congress ought to investigate the origins of the Justice Department's inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 election, including 76% of Democrats, 69% of independents and 62% of Republicans.”

In other words, an overwhelming majority of Americans believe that the Obama Justice Department’s actions in 2016 should be investigated.  The American people want answers about the Steele dossier, the FISA court approval of the wiretap, everything. What did Obama know, and when did he know it? Why did the Obama administration not do more to prevent or stop Russian cyber attacks?

As John Nolte at Breitbart explains, this was a poll of random adults and such polls tend to skew left, but they are “useful in looking at trends, and this poll shows that the trends are almost all moving in Trump’s direction.”

Since it probably skewed left, that suggests it is even worse for the Democrats!

The lawyers for Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann filed a $275 million lawsuit against NBCUniversal on Wednesday.

The lawsuit alleges that the network “published false and defamatory accusations” against the 16-year-old.

“NBCUniversal attacked Nicholas by relying heavily on biased and unreliable sources without conducting any reasonable investigation of the circumstances surrounding the January 18 incident,” the suit reads, which Sandmann’s lawyer posted on Twitter, as reported by The Washington Times.

“NBCUniversal’s attacks on Nicholas included at least fifteen (15) defamatory television broadcasts, six (6) defamatory online articles, and many tweets falsely accusing Nicholas and his Covington Catholic High School (“CovCath”) classmates of racists acts, including among other thing,” it continued. “NBC Universal continued to promote its false narrative that Nicholas had instigated a racist confrontation with Phillips long after Phillips was exposed as a fraud whose version of events was not entitled to any credibility by responsible members of the media.”

Sandmann has already filed similar lawsuits against CNN and The Washington Post.

The DOJ gets to work in many areas:

Report: Border Agents Will Soon Have Authority To Decide Asylum Claims On The Spot

4:18 PM 05/02/2019 | US

President Donald Trump is reportedly preparing to give law enforcement officials the authority to conduct interviews with asylum seekers arriving on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Under the upcoming plan, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officers would train Border Patrol agents deployed on the southern border on how to perform “credible fear interviews,” according to sources who spoke with the Washington Examiner. A migrant illegally crossing the border would be subjected to an interview by an agent shortly after apprehension and would only be allowed to claim asylum if they pass the interview.

The changes would reduce the number of migrants who are waiting for a decision on their asylum case, alleviating an immigration court system bogged down with some 900,000 pending cases, and more quickly deport foreign nationals who do not qualify.

“If that gets rolled out and we actually start deporting people within a timely manner, you’re going to see the numbers drop exponentially,” an official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said to the Examiner.

The Trump Administration is working to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton must be weeping. The Muslim Brotherhood is a radical terrorist organization working to impose Sharia law across the globe by any means necessary — The Muslim Brotherhood’s main target is the United States and the organization has been working to infiltrate the US and take us down from within.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders Tuesday responded to a New York Times report that said Trump’s White House was working to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization. The Administration is “working its way through the internal process,” Sarah Sanders said Tuesday.

The Times said that following a White House visit a couple weeks ago by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Trump’s White House “directed national security and diplomatic officials to find a way to place sanctions on the group,” at Sisi’s urging.

President “responded affirmatively,” agreeing “it would make sense,” the Paper said.

The United States would be the 7th nation to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.

According to the Times, Secretary Pompeo and National Security Advisor John Bolton are supportive of the designation, however, the Defense Department “voiced legal and policy objections” and many staff members have reportedly “voiced legal and policy objections.”

President Trump campaigned on protecting the US from Islamic terrorists and formally designated the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps a foreign terrorist organization a couple weeks ago.

Trump’s DOJ to Euthanize Obamacare Once and for All

The Trump administration says it wants to euthanize ObamaCare, not perform surgery on it. In a court filing Wednesday, the administration and a coalition of 18 Republican-led states formally asked a federal appeals court to strike down the entire Affordable Care Act, the New York Times reports. In the filing with the 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, the administration explained that it had changed position after earlier seeking to strike down only parts of the law, reports the AP. The filing stated that the administration had reconsidered its position in light of US District Court Judge Reed O'Connor's bombshell ruling late last year that the entire law became unconstitutional when Congress repealed a tax penalty for Americans who failed to obtain health insurance.

Assistant Attorney General Joseph Hunt argued in the filing that rewriting the law by "picking and choosing which provisions to invalidate" would interfere with the role of Congress, so the courts should strike down the law in its entirety. The conservative-leaning court will hear arguments in July, setting up a potential Supreme Court battle, CNN reports. Democratic leaders slammed the move, warning that killing ObamaCare would lead to an estimated 20 million Americans losing their health insurance. "There is no viable legal argument and no moral defense for the devastation the Trump administration is asking the court to inflict on Americans' health care," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. (Trump says Republicans are working on a much better alternative, but it won't be unveiled until after the 2020 election.)

Trump defends clinicians' right to refuse to do abortions

WASHINGTON (AP) — Advancing his anti-abortion agenda, President Donald Trump on Thursday moved to protect health care workers who object to procedures like abortion on moral or religious grounds.

Trump chose the National Day of Prayer to announce the new regulation.

“Just today we finalized new protections of conscience rights for physicians, pharmacists, nurses, teachers, students and faith-based charities,” Trump told an interfaith audience in the White House Rose Garden. “They’ve been wanting to do that for a long time.”

Alabama State Rep. John Rogers (D) on abortion:

Some kids are unwanted, so you kill them now or you kill them later. You bring them in the world unwanted, unloved, you send them to the electric chair. So, you kill them now or you kill them later”

— Charlie Kirk (@charliekirk11) May 1, 2019

So he thinks every unwanted kid ends up a murderer…..  No wonder they want abortions.

International intrigue as Prime Minister May is Exposed as Secretly making Deals with China’s Huawei, and she then Fires the Man who Outed Her:

U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May fired her Defense Secretary on Wednesday after concluding that he was involved in leaking details about a possible arrangement with Chinese telecoms giant Huawei to the media.

“The Prime Minister has this evening asked Gavin Williamson to leave the Government, having lost confidence in his ability to serve in the role of Defense Secretary and as a member of her Cabinet,” 10 Downing Street said in a statement.

“The Prime Minister’s decision has been informed by his conduct surrounding an investigation into the circumstances of the unauthorized disclosure of information from a meeting of the National Security Council,” the statement said.

Penny Mordaunt, the International Development Minister, was named as Williamson's replacement and approved by the Queen, according to Downing Street. She becomes the first woman to hold the position.

Williamson's sacking came after an investigation into a leak to The Daily Telegraph -- which reported that the National Security Council, chaired by May, had agreed to allow Huawei to help build Britain’s new 5G network.

The Telegraph reported that greenlighting Huawei’s involvement was likely to anger the U.S., which has banned Huawei from its government networks and has urged its allies to do the same amid concerns the Chinese could use Huawei’s equipment to spy and hack into government systems.
