A federal appeals court will hear arguments Monday over the constitutionality of a struck-down Kansas statute that had required people to provide documents proving their U.S. citizenship before they could register to vote.Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said in an emailed statement that the statute was enacted by large bipartisan majorities in the Legislature.“The Legislature is free to repeal the statute if it is no longer favored, but as long as the law requiring documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote remains on the books, we think it, like other duly enacted state laws, deserves a full and vigorous legal defense,” Schmidt said.Kansas argued in court filings that it has a compelling interest in preventing voter fraud. It contended its proof-of-citizenship requirement is not a significant burden and protects the integrity of elections and the accuracy of voter rolls.The National Conference of State Legislatures has counted 35 states that have lawsrequiring some form of identification at the polls, but the Kansas voter registration statute at issue goes further by requiring people to provide documents such as a birth certificate, U.S. passport or naturalization papers before they can even register to vote. Arizona is the only other state with a similar law in effect, but it is far more lenient and allows people to satisfy it by writing their driver’s license number on the voter registration form. Proof-of-citizenship laws in Alabama and Georgia are not currently being enforced.

Trump orders alien biometric IDs, dump 466,000 Obama green cards

The Immigration Service on March 8 issued biometric identification rules requiring all temporary foreign workers and their dependents to pay $85 and complete a biometric smartcard ID that includes fingerprint, facial photograph, any unique physical traits, signature, and DNA tests for certain countries by the end of 2019. 

All alien biometric templets will be made available online for immigration agencies to identify and authenticate the legal status of all temporary H-1B foreign worker participants and to aid law enforcement in combating widespread identity fraud.   

President Trump is engaged in a two-track effort through the supporting American workers ‘Save Jobs USA’ lawsuit and completing the nine onerous federal administrative steps necessary to purge Obama’s Immigration Executive by December 2019.

An 18-year-old teenager appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Monday and was charged with re-posting of the livestream video of Friday’s mosque shootings. 

The judge denied bail. The teen’s next court date is in April.

As we noted yesterday, New Zealand authorities reminded citizens over the weekend that they face up to 10 years in prison for simply downloading and storing the video, and up to 14 years for distributing it (h/t Nick Monroe).Meanwhile, the New Zealand police have sent notice to the owner of the Kiwi Farms internet message board demanding the preservation of IP addresses and email addresses associated with posts related to the Christchurch shootings.

While we suggested earlier that New Zealand authorities could simply be trying to investigate whether Tarrant had online accomplices - it's clear from the arrest and prosecution of the 22-year-old man that authorities are actively pursuing people who had nothing to do with the attack, for exchanging information.  

Interest in the video ranges from morbid curiosity to a desire to analyze it to determine Tarrant's motives, methods, possible accomplices and whether or not it was a "false flag" - as was floated on Friday by Rush Limbaugh. And while Kiwi Farms owner Joshua Moon told New Zealand authorities that he doesn't "give a single solitary fuck what section 50 of your faggot law say about sharing your email," adding "Fuck you and fuck your shithole country," it should be noted that New Zealand is part of the "five eyes" intelligence alliance with Canada, Australia, the UK and the United States - which means that in addition to the sharing of investigatory and surveillance information between countries, Moon may be subject to extradition - if not by treaty, by a stroke of the pen from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Obama and McCain IRS Scandal Revealed by Judicial Watch

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released newly obtained internal IRS documents, including material revealing that Sen. John McCain’s former staff director and chief counsel on the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee, Henry Kerner, urged top IRS officials, including then-director of exempt organizations Lois Lerner, to “audit so many that it becomes financially ruinous.” Kerner was appointed by President Trump as Special Counsel for the United States Office of Special Counsel.

The explosive exchange was contained in notes taken by IRS employees at an April 30, 2013, meeting between Kerner, Lerner, and other high-ranking IRS officials. Just ten days following the meeting, former IRS director of exempt organizations Lois Lerner admitted that the IRS had a policy of improperly and deliberately delaying applications for tax-exempt status from conservative non-profit groups.

Lerner and other IRS officials met with select top staffers from the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee in a “marathon” meeting to discuss concerns raised by both Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) that the IRS was not reining in political advocacy groups in response to the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.  Senator McCain had been the chief sponsor of the McCain-Feingold Act and called the Citizens United decision, which overturned portions of the Act, one of the “worst decisions I have ever seen.”

In the full notes of an April 30 meeting, McCain’s high-ranking staffer Kerner recommends harassing non-profit groups until they are unable to continue operating. Kerner tells Lerner, Steve Miller, then chief of staff to IRS commissioner, Nikole Flax, and other IRS officials, “Maybe the solution is to audit so many that it is financially ruinous.” In response, Lerner responded that “it is her job to oversee it all:”
