The U.S. will withdraw all remaining personnel from @usembassyve this week. This decision reflects the deteriorating situation in #Venezuela as well as the conclusion that the presence of U.S. diplomatic staff at the embassy has become a constraint on U.S. policy.

Venezuela ordered American diplomats on Tuesday to leave within 72 hours after President Nicolas Maduro accused U.S. counterpart Donald Trump of cyber “sabotage” that plunged the South American country into its worst blackout on record.
The blackout was likely caused by a technical problem with transmission lines linking the Guri hydroelectric plant in southeastern Venezuela to the national power grid, experts told Reuters. Power returned to many parts of the country on Tuesday, including some areas that had not had electricity since last Thursday, according to witnesses and social media.But power was still out in parts of the capital of Caracas and the western region near the border with Colombia.
Julio Castro, of nongovernmental organisation Doctors for Health, said on Twitter on Monday night that 24 people had died in public hospitals since the start of the blackout. He has said that the blackout likely aggravated existing medical conditions but does not directly attribute any deaths to the outages.

Southern Poverty Law Center Surpasses Half Billion in Assets; $121 Million Now Offshore
Reports $518 million in total assets despite $21 million fall in donations
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a far-left nonprofit known for its "hate group" designations, has surpassed a half billion dollars in total assets and now has $121 million parked offshore, according to the group's most recent financial statements.
The SPLC, which is based in Montgomery, Ala., has not publicly posted its most recent financial statements on its website. However, the organization applied for renewal in the state of California days ago and submitted a number of documents pertaining to its financial standing including its most recent audited statement and tax forms for calendar year 2018, which covers Nov. 1, 2017 to Oct. 31, 2018.
According to the filings submitted to California's Office of Attorney General, the group reported total assets of $518 million from November 2017 to the Oct. 31, 2018, an increase of $41 million from the $477 million in total assets it reported on its previous year's tax forms.
Despite the fall in revenue, the SPLC's vast investment portfolio expanded in 2018, which included a drastic increase in the amount of money it has parked overseas. By the end of 2018, its non-U.S. equity funds rose to $121 million, an uptick of nearly $30 million from the $ 92 million it had parked in offshore investments throughout 2017.
Last year, the Daily Caller reported the SPLC partnered with tech giants such as Amazon, Facebook, Google, and Twitter to help the companies determine who are "hate groups." PayPal had also partnered with the SPLC to help determine who should be "blacklisted" from their company.
Dozens of organizations contemplated suing the SPLC over its hate group designations after the SPLC had entered into a $3 million settlement with Maajid Nawaz, a Muslim reformer, after including him in its 2016 "Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists."
Additionally, a lawsuit was later filed against the SPLC alleging that the nonprofit runs an "illegal racket to silence political opponents."

Grounding of the Boeing 737
President Trump says he is grounding all U.S. flights on Boeing 737 Max 8 and 9 planes 'effective immediately' in an emergency order of prohibition.
Any plane that is currently in the air will be allowed to land, and then the planes will be grounded until further notice, he said in a surprise announcement on Wednesday afternoon.
Trump made the decision following conversations with Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg and the Federal Aviation Administration he said, after 'new information' and 'physical evidence' emerged on tragic incidents involving the planes.
'They are all in agreement with the action,' Trump announced. 'Planes that are in the air will be grounded, if they're the 737 Max, will be grounded upon landing at the destination.'
An Ethiopian Airlines flight that crashed Sunday, shortly after taking off from Addis Ababa, killed all 157 people on board the aircraft. A Lion Air flight on a 737 Max 8 crashed in October in route from Indonesia, taking the lives of its 189 passengers and its crew.
